I found the video Using Wikipedia for Academic Research (2008) interesting and informative. The video gives clear explanations on how to use Wikipedia accurately to complete academic research. Wikipedia can be a great tool for students to utilize once they have developed a plan and outline for their research topic. For example, by using the references at the bottom of each topic page students can gain access to a more reliable source. In addition, it gave an example of learning new terminology and using that in further research through more reliable databases. Overall, this video can be a great tool for teachers to incorporate into introducing new research methods, without completely taking out Wikipedia as a resource.
