The first video in the series is perfect for secondary and collegiate level students. It explains where Copyright laws are located and how Fair Use is applied to educators/teaching systems.
I truly believe that any educator should use and review these videos to help them understand Copyright laws and Fair Use for educators. I was surprised to learn a few new things and felt it appropriate to share with this class, EDU 653.
In addition to videos, there are links and resources available in print (for free) for educators to review and use in their classrooms. These would be a great resource for teachers, especially at the secondary level, to help students understand how to use information, properly cite it and ensure they are not breaking Copyright or Fair Use laws. In the end, this is a great resource for educators.
Agreed. Copyright and Fair Use Laws seem complicated so they often get ignored. It is really very simple and should be taught to both students and teachers from a young age. The more we use computers, the more important this becomes and as always education is key.
